FORGING YOUR UNIVERSE...
⧡ BUYER’S CHECKLIST
Holding two or three quotes that look nothing alike? This is how to compare website quotes line by line, with our own packages filled in as a fully priced example.
A quote you can compare names the scope, the time, the running costs and the tax. If any of these lines is missing, ask for it in writing before you decide:
Most small business owners are not short of quotes; they are short of a way to read them. A single figure tells you almost nothing. Here is what each line on a proper quote means, and the question to ask when it is missing.
The number of pages sets most of the work. Five pages is a home page, an about page, services, a gallery and contact. Twelve is a business with several services, locations or a blog. Ask what an extra page costs once you go past the number quoted.
A template-based design adapts an existing layout to your brand. It is quicker and cheaper because the layout decisions are already made. A custom UI/UX is drawn for your business from scratch. Both are legitimate; the quote should say which one you are paying for.
List every job the site has to do: an enquiry form, a blog you post to yourself, an online store, a booking system, an admin panel. “E-commerce” in particular can mean anything from a handful of products to a full store with order handling, so ask how many products it covers. Our e-commerce page sets out where that line falls for us.
Someone has to write the words and supply the pictures. If the quote is silent, assume it is you. Ask whether copywriting is included and whether stock or other imagery is part of the price.
Revisions are the rounds of changes you can ask for before the extra work becomes billable. A number is better than “reasonable revisions”, which means whatever the studio decides.
A delivery window in days or weeks, agreed before any code is written. Ask what the studio needs from you to hit it, because late content is the usual reason a launch slips.
How long after launch fixes are free, and what counts as a fix. A quote with no support period means the first problem after handover is a new invoice.
The domain is your address; hosting is where the site lives. Ask whether both are included, for how long, and whose name the domain is registered in.
Updates, backups and content changes after the support period ends. This is a recurring cost, so it belongs in your comparison even though it is not part of the build price.
The schedule: how much is due to start, how much on completion, and whether larger builds are split across milestones. Ask which payment methods the studio accepts.
Whether the figure includes GST or has it added on top. Two quotes can look close until one of them adds tax at the end, so ask the question plainly and get the answer in writing.
Comparing quotes is three steps, done in order. Skip one and the cheapest-looking quote often turns out not to be.
If you are still working out a budget rather than comparing offers, start with what a website costs in Bangalore.
None of these is a trick on its own. They become hidden costs when the quote does not mention them and you find out after the advance is paid.
General guidance, not legal advice. Any of these is a reason to ask more questions before you sign anything.
Here is the same checklist filled in with NebulaForge’s three packages, using the figures on our pricing page. Use it as a reference for what a complete quote looks like, whoever you hire.

On a narrow screen, swipe the table sideways to see all three packages.
Read across a row and the trade-offs are visible. The step from Basic to Premium buys custom design, more pages, a small store and three months of support, and takes domain and hosting off your bill. The step to Luxury is for sites that have to run something: bookings, a full catalogue, an admin panel someone uses every day.
A quote is only as good as the brief behind it. Send the same five things to every studio and the quotes you get back will be comparable from the start.
Our process page shows what happens after you send it, and the FAQ answers the questions most people ask next.
⧡ QUESTIONS
A website quote should list the number of pages, whether the design is template-based or custom, every feature such as forms or a store, who writes the content, how many revisions are included, the timeline, the support period, domain and hosting, maintenance after launch, the payment schedule and whether GST is added.
Put every quote on the same scope first: the same pages, features and content. Then put them on the same tax basis by asking whether GST is included. Finally add the first year of running costs, such as domain, hosting and maintenance, so you compare what each site really costs to own.
It depends on the studio, so always ask whether a quoted price includes GST or has it added on top. At NebulaForge no GST is added: the listed price is the full price, so ₹6,999 means ₹6,999 and ₹14,999 means ₹14,999, with nothing added at the end of the quote.
Usually domain, hosting and maintenance. At NebulaForge, domain and hosting are included with Premium and Luxury; on Basic they cost extra, and the amount depends on the domain you choose, so there is no fixed figure. Maintenance is ₹899 per month on every plan, after the included support period ends.
Because they rarely describe the same website. One may cover five template pages while another covers twelve custom-designed pages, an online store, copywriting and months of support. Line the quotes up against the same checklist and most of the price gap turns out to be a difference in scope.
No. We work on a 50% advance to begin the project and 50% on completion before final handover. For Luxury builds, payment can be split across milestones — discovery, design approval and launch. Both instalments are of the listed price, with no GST added on top.
Yes. The three packages already have fixed prices. If your project does not fit one of them, there is a free discovery call followed by an itemised proposal, so you see what each part of the job costs before agreeing to anything. In Bangalore we can also meet in person.
